A number of these postcard photographs were taken at the turn of the 20th century by Woodford photographer Fred Knighton. Many of his photographs either have the initials FKW (Fred Knighton Woodford) on them, early examples can also be identified by the uneven type face of the description e.g. Laburnum Cottage. A further example of his work is the banner photograph at the top of this page.
Other examples were taken by Raphael Tuck and Son of London. I've included four examples here, numbers 7, 8, 32 and 50; (These were sold in enveloped packs of six.) "CN" took a series of photographs along the River eg numbers 1, (erroneously labelled Woodford Bottom Mill) and 2. The catalogue numbers on these images suggest the photographer was working his way down the River Nene.
